Location: Section 17, Shah Alam, Selangor

History

Shah Alam was first referred to as Sungai Renggam. The area was more known for its rubber and palm oil estates. Right before Malaysia achieved her independence, though, the name Sungai Renggam was changed to Batu Tiga. It was not until Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah decided to rename it after his late father, Sultan Alam Shah that the place gained its current name.

10 October 2000 become a memorable day for Shah Alam residents, since, on that day, it was given city status.
